Hiker's 75G Reef Tank
« on: August 31, 2010, 08:30:37 PM »
Here are a few quick pics of my tank so everyone knows what I'm working with.  I recently upgraded to a 75g from a 29g.  Tank is not fully set up as I have 70lbs of rock curing at the moment to add to the 60lbs already in the tank.  It will be ready to aquascape this weekend I hope.

Nice tank. How do you have your frag rack suspended? Need some ideas as I need to start fragging some corals.
                     Thanks, Mary Beth

Tank and your livestock look great.  Maybe you can post your equipment and water parameters as well so people know what you are working with.

Mary Beth,

Thanks for the nice comments!  I have it superglued to an algae magnet.  It works awesome.  I stole the idea from my friend Kelvin.  Feel free to steal it from me.

Thanks!  I've got a Perfecto 75g tank, not RR.  I run (8)x54W T5's, (3) K3's for powerheads, a 29g fuge skimmerless.  My water params are:

Amm - 0
Nrite - 0
Nrate - 0
Phos - 0
PH - 8.1-8.3 give or take
Alk - 10dkh
Calc - 420
Mag - 1350

I only dose B-Ionic Alk, Calc and Mag.  Do a 10g water change every two weeks and use Red Sea Salt.

Thanks for all the nice comments.  They were only a few crappy pics of some of the livestock I have in the tank.  I'm mostly an SPS tank with a few LPS and Zoanthids.  Most of my SPS are frags or small colonies, but will be larger colonies sooner or later.

Hi Kelvin!  How's it going.  Yeah, you got to see a few terrible pics.  Those photo's were taken a few weeks ago.

I'm sure you'll recgoinize quite a few corals in my tank.  It's pretty much the frag version of yours.

Just a little update on some recent purchases.  I got King Midas Golds and Yellow Jacket Paly from Kelvin (Knockout).  Last night I ordered from Baycorals.com:

Jason Fox Bloodshot Paly
Purple Dream Paly
Marijane Zoanthids
Candy Apple Green Zoanthids
Tyree Captain America Paly
Red Hornet Zoanthids
Velvet Moss Zoanthids

Next week is going to be awesome when I get the corals from Fedex!
