I ran the Magnum canister on the tank yesterday.  After a little practice I was able to create the right flow so that a shot with the turkey baster sent the flatworms into the flow and into the canister.  I found what appeared to be the "ant hill" as I'll call it.  They had congregated in the one front corner of the tank.  That side appears to have the least flow.  The thing about the flat worms is they are fairly light in weight so once they get dislodged from the sand or rock they float nicely in the flow and to the canister.  I had many many removed but less than 12 hours later I still see many in the tank.  It will be a long process but a natural one for now as I try to reduce the amount flat worms.  Too soon to know if this helps or not.

I think the wrasse may be helpful.  Since I only have a 14 gallon tank with two clowns I am concerned about the additional bio-load on the tank.  I'm going to research some more (any listen to any free advice from the forum:) before adding anything to the tank.

By the way, the canister added a ton of flow to the tank.  I was originally concerned about that but zero issues with any of the life in the tank.

Trust me bro, that method is not going to get rid of them.  There are babies and eggs that you cant see.  Flatworm exit is the solution.

I'm giving up and going the flat worm exit route.  Any suggestions on folks who have survived the "toxic" nature of the die off?  I read you need to run extra carbon but how long does this need to be in the tank.  The "tank" is a 14 gallon Biocube that has Chemipure Elite running as the carbon right now.  I have Purigen pack to add to the tank but not really sure that would help with the flat worm die off.  I can run the Magnum with carbon but again, not sure how long is enough.

I've also read it is harmful to some types of reef life.  Will inverts suffer as a result?  I have a clean up crew that consists of an emerald crab, normal snails, sand star fish as well as a large snail that lives under the sand bed 99% of the time (and I can't recall the name as I write this port:)  I want my tank back from these awful red flat worms.

Thanks

I have used it before with no ill effects
1.  Syphon off as many as u can
2.  Have water ready to do a 20% change
3.  Run extra carbon when you are done.....

When u do the water change syphon out as many dead ones as you can

Also use a powerhead to blast your rockwork. Don't be in a rush to remove it from the tank.
When looks like its snowing in your tank, you will know they are dying.
You will be amazed about how many were in your tank.
What I did was strain the water that was being removed. Then I put it back in the tank. Did that a few times until there were no visible dead worms. Then I did my water change.
Nothing died just the flatworms. Works good.

Just run carbon after that. I wouldn't used that purigen on a 14g tank. That will strip every nutrient from that tank. Carbon alone is good enough.
